As a student-led movement, the participation of our club members is vital to the function of the Biomedical Engineering Club Initiative. Please take some time to look at a few of our team members' bios to learn more about who we are!

Founder & President
Keerthana Danasekaran
Hey guys! My name is Keerthana and I've been the co-president of the NHS Biomedical Engineering Club for 3 years. Outside of the club, I'm captain of the Northville Science Olympiad Team, President of the GIDAS and Science in Research and Innovation Clubs, play the Flute in the University of Michigan Youth Symphonic Band, dance, and engage in my own research projects! In my spare time, I love to watch true crime documentaries, hang out with my friends, volunteer, and play with my dog!

Disha Iyengar
Hi! My name is Disha Iyengar and I’ve been the co-president of the NHS Biomedical Engineering Club for 3 years. Aside from my involvement in the club, I am heavily involved in music and have performed at the regional to international levels. Additionally, I am on the executive board of a few educational and research based nonprofits in my area. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, kayaking, volunteering, origami, and exercising!

Luana Firmino
Hi! My name is Luana Firmino and I am the Vice President of the Biomedical Engineering Club. I am a Sophomore and this is my second year in the club. Some of my other hobbies include dancing, playing guitar, crocheting, and hanging out with friends and family. I am very interested in Biology and hope to pursue it in the future in some way.

Dhanya Kodali
Hey guys! My name is Dhanya Kodali and I'm a sophmore and in my free time, I love to read and bake. Mystery novels are my favorite. I also love going to the beach and paddleboarding.

Sydney Langovsky
I love to read, swim, do yoga, travel, and spend time with friends and family. I enjoy playing golf and pickle-ball, and I have been in dance for almost ten years. In the future, I am very interested in studying prosthetics, stem cells, and the many other fields of Biomedical Engineering.

Hi! My name is Nilan Nandish and I'm a senior at Northville High School. I am part of The Mustang Leadership Council. Captain of the Varsity Tennis team. Curious about the sciences, I especially like biology. As an Eagle Scout, I enjoy the outdoors. I am interested in biomedical engineering and how it can positively impact health issues.

Hi, I am Tianjun Zhu and I am currently a freshman here at Northville High School. This is my first year as a member of the biomedical engineering club. Some hobbies I enjoy during my free time includes reading (preferably fiction genre), playing chess, and watching movies. I am excited to be in this fantastic club during the 2021-2022 school year.

Sara Ghoddoussi
Hey! My name is Sara Ghoddoussi and I am currently a senior at Northville High School. This is my second year in the Biomedical engineering club. I am very curious about life and health science and how the advancement in science impacts our world in the future. I am also a Donor Ambassador for American Red Cross and a member of MSA (Muslim Student Association). Some activities I enjoy doing is journaling, traveling, baking, and watching movies (especially horror and sci-fi).

Seher Basi
Hi, my name is Seher Basi and I am currently a senior at Northville High School. Aside from being a member of the NHS Biomedical Engineering Club, I am also a president of ENDD (Educating Northville on Diseases and Disorders). My other primary interest is dance which I further through involvement with competitive dance teams with NHS, Foundation House, and the Indian American Cultural Association Shakti. I also enjoy volunteering, tutoring, reading, and biking!

I am thankful to be a part of several other programs such as being a UNICEF officer, student congress representative, HOSA member, and the Northville varsity pom team. In my free time, I enjoy watching YouTube, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
